Alecia’s restaurant-industry roots were planted in her hometown of Aberdeen, S.D., where she spent her junior high school days behind the Dairy Queen counter. She soon graduated to a host position at a larger family restaurant, where she got her first real taste of the good, the bad, and the ugly of restaurant management. (Let’s just say she no longer eats the potato salad there.)

In 1999, Alecia found herself craving a bigger-city feel and moved to the Twin Cities. She jumped in to the local culinary scene at Buca, where she honed her skills in both serving and bartending. These skills parlayed into a long stint at the much-loved (and missed) Joe’s Garage, nearby favorite Café Lurcat, the highly regarded Bar La Grassa, hot spot The Butcher & the Boar, and most recently at a St. Paul gem, Meritage.

The relationships Alecia has forged along her career path have added up to an impressive network and a whip-smart understanding of what restaurants need to operate at their best. After welcoming her son, Klaus, to the world, her priorities shifted but her heart never left the culinary world. She saw recruiting as the best way for her to continue her culinary conversations with a community in which she has grown roots and enjoyed for years. She joined the EHS team in October 2016.

Always up for a challenge, Alecia is currently at work in her home kitchen concocting dishes to help persuade her son to eat weird foods again. She also enjoys camping with her son, summer days at the water park, yoga, running with her dog, and any outdoor activity.
