Paul was born and raised in Wahpeton, North Dakota. College took him to Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Cloud State University.

In 1996, Paul moved to the Twin Cities and began his career in the restaurant industry working as a manager for Fuddruckers and TGI Friday’s. It wasn’t long before his career path turned to recruiting, and in 2001 he began his career with EHS. Paul partnered with Harry Balley in 2006 to purchase EHS’s Minneapolis office from company founder Brian Hirt.

Paul is most proud of the long-term relationships he’s built in the industry. He enjoys helping hospitality industry professionals find rewarding and successful careers in great organizations in which they are able to make a significant and positive impact. When this happens, Paul knows he has found the right fit for the job, and has done his best work in helping clients and candidates.

Paul lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Nikki, and three children. In his spare time, he likes to play softball, downhill ski, fish, camp, garden, and spend time with his family.

Quick Tip from Paul: “Be open-minded about the process. Even if you don’t see it right away, if I tell you something is a good opportunity, it usually is. Or it’s at least worth your time to check it out.”
